I’m seeing a denim shorts trend here, totally accidental I swear! But I do love how easy and refreshing they can be and how they can completely change an outfit =) I can definitely see myself wearing the first outfit, just an easy tank and shorts, but I’m also loving the fourth outfit! I love the combination of the different textures and patterns! =)

Hey!

This week has gone by so quickly! My boyfriend finally moved home this week! I’m so happy, he no longer lives like 4-5 hours away! It’s such a relief and so great to have him back =)

My favourite picture this week is the first! I can totally see myself wearing that, I just need to find a blazer! (Many of you know I’ve been hunting for one that fits and flatters a petite frame like mine and it’s proving difficult XP). I love the dressed-down, casual chic style of that outfit! And I had to add the last image as it was just so pretty =) Hope you enjoy!

Heylo!

I have some good news to share with you today! Many of you who follow me on twitter already know, but I got the results for my finals yesterday! I am so happy =) Come Sept I will have a degree in my hand! It’s all still really surreal! It doesn’t feel like I’m finished college! Still, I’m super excited! A huge thank you to all of you for your support during my exam-time MIA and for your well wishes over the last few weeks and yesterday in particular! All the hard work paid off =)

I sooo want to make these for my graduation!! They are so cute and I imagine they are very yummy =)

I simply adore these. Especially the one on the right. It’s such a simple pretty thing to do! I remember making hundreds of wishes on these guys when I was a kid! In fact, I STILL DO! I always make a wish on those dandelion heads and eyelashes. Oh and you can’t forget your birthday cake! =)

I’ll make a confession before I begin, I am not the most fashionable girl at all! I much prefer being in jeans and converse than strutting in heels all day. And although I love designer brands such as Alexander McQueen I could never justify the prices of their pieces. Despite all this, I appreciate fashion. Here to Stay

Hi!

I had a great week staying at my bf's place last week as a little break after my exams! I just got home last night so I'm spending today catching up on a lot of blog reading and shows. A big thank you to all who responded to my last post! I love hearing your thoughts and it really helped give me an idea as to what you like seeing on my blog =)

I always find that when summer starts I am inspired to start new things or take up old ones again! I really want to make the most of my summer this year but also use the time to relax and take it easy as I still don't know what I'll be doing next year. So for the most part I'll be trying to balance productivity with having a lil r&r time (but isn't that what everyone is always after?). So this summer, I'm setting myself goals! Here are a few I hope to achieve:

Exercise more! I used to LOVE exercising, I always felt energetic and revitalized after a brisk walk or jog, and I really want to get back into that!
Catch up with shows. I'll admit I'm a bit of an asian drama addict! I was so busy lately that I left shows until last in the day/week and when you're tired subtitles can be a small bit off-putting, so my list has grown over the last few months. I'll be starting ToGetHer next! Any other drama addicts out there??
Learn some photography tips. I love looking at beautiful photos and although I don't have a DSLR or anything fancy I believe that shouldn't stop me from being able to take nice pictures.

I have one or two other things planned for summer such as working on my blog and spending more time with my bf who will be coming home for good next month (many of you know he has lived many hours away for over a year). Mostly I will just be enjoying summer and all it has to offer. I hope to have one other bigger thing happening within the coming month or so.. but that will be a surprise ;)

Hey everyone!

I finally finished my exams! My last one was yesterday and I’m pretty happy with how they went. I can’t believe I’m finished college forever, it seems so surreal. Just feels like any other summer is starting! I’m still not sure what I’m going to be doing next year, only time will tell, but hopefully it will be something I enjoy =)

Hopefully this also means that I will have more time to make jewellery again! Many of you know that my college workload got very heavy in recent months (hence my unexpected MIA for awhile) and I simply didn’t have the time to make any new pieces. Aside from my jewellery I’ve been wondering what to post on my blog. Often, I’ll think of something I’d like to post but wonder if I’m the only one interested? ha ha at the end of the day I do realise this is my blog to share things I am interested in but I would like them to be things that you are interested in too! I have a few ideas, but I’d love to hear your ideas! =D

DIY Love!

Hey! I've been so wrapped up in life that I simply haven't had the chance to post lately but I have been sure to dedicate some time every week to keep up with reading blogs! I'm currently in the middle of my FINAL EXAMS! It's so strange to think that I will be graduating later this year, real life is coming at me fast! I promise that once summer comes I will be spending lots of time focusing on this blog! For now I must focus on getting through my exams and making some big life decisions *scary*! I hope this lil DIY project will hold you over until my exams are over and that you can forgive my absence =)

This DIY project just astonishes me! I LOVE the finished product! I have yet to try making one myself but it's on the top of my list. It is so cute and can be made from everything you'd already have at home.

Don't be deceived by the simplicity of the exterior of the box...

its charms lie in the adorable 4 tiered tray stand it opens into!

It is so simple yet gorgeous in its design and you can decorate it a million ways! There are extremely thorough instructions which lead you step by step through making the trays and assembling them all together

Letter-stamped Necklaces

I recently fell in love with the style of these pieces! I love the pure yet raw appearence of them and how personal they can be. I've always admired letter and image stamping. It's something I've always loved to try but it's a very expensive hobby! I can promise you those plates don't come cheap so if you (like I initially felt) think these pieces are a lil over-priced, the quality of the pieces and the work put into them they are at a fairly reasonable price. That being said, of course we'd all love if they weren't quite so high but maybe we can at least appreciate how gorgeous they are! This is my first post of a series of DIY projects that I hope you all love just as much as I do! =)

In case you haven't heard, I've decided that every so often I'm going to feature a craft project from different places (with lots of pretty pictures of course!)

Today's post feature this adorable little handmade origami paper heart and envelope. Perfect for Valentine's Day! I made this a few months ago for my boyfriend and he thought it was really cute! Maybe it's just me but I love handmade things. They always have so much more meaning and I'm always grateful for the time and effort someone would put into a handmade gift.

This amazingly talented girl made these as invitations to her engagement party initially.

She was so kind to make a generic version for people to download from her blog and you can edit and personalise the message on the inside simply by downloading her template.

The back of the heart has this adorable intricate looking design. And it comes with a template and instructions for this adorable handmade envelope as well!

I came across this song today and I cannot stop playing it! I wasn't sure at first but I just loved it once I got into it! Very Micheal Buble meets Katharine McPhee (you might remember her song with Zachary Levi from here) but don't judge it from that! It's very unique still. A very relaxed, happy song!

I'm a lil late buuuut... HAPPY NEW YEAR!! =)

I know I've been silent on the blogfront but I'm hoping that's going to change! I've decided to do shorter blogs more often rather than long blogs because as much as I love them they can drain me! I've been so busy and so exhausted lately that I never have time or the energy to blog and I never want to do a half-assed post! That wouldn't be enjoyable for you or me! So I'm making sure I'm gona do it right! =D

So just as a quick update I wanted to let you guys know that I do have posts planned! Unfortunately I haven't had any spare time to make new pieces which makes me sad! So there wont be any of those posts for awhile but I do plan on showing you lots of other pretty things and I'm thinking about incorporating a sort of 'featured DIY' post every now and then! I'm excited! Aren't you?!

Guilty conscience

Oh my, it's been so long since my last post!! I'm so sorry, hope you can forgive me but I believe I have valid reason! I might not have been blogging/commenting but I've been following all your blog updates so I'm up to date =)

So let me just start of with a quick recap of what I've been up to: The day following my last post I went and stayed with my boyfriend for over a week (had an amazing time there! <3) and the day I got home I started college again o.O I've been so busy and everything has been pretty hectic since then and well now I'm sick =/ But I miss blogging!! All the time I was M.I.A. I was planning blogs to post, etc. but I simply never found the time.

I have just started my final yr in college *eep!* and the amount of reading I have to do this year is phenomenal! (You might remember I'm majoring in English). All my free time this week has been taken up with reading. So I thought I'd just give you a taste of what I'm reading right now (which is only a tiny amount of this term's reading!)

A fashion post on PreciousXing? No way! =P

It's true I'm not much of a fashionista, I like my wardrobe but I admitt I don't put half as much effort into dressing up as I should. I like my simple white tees and jeans and colouring them up with jewelery and scarves. But that doesn't mean I don't have an interest in these things!

Nicole Richie is one of my favourite style icons! I think she has amazing style and well, creating her own fashion (Winter Kate) and jewellery (House of Harlow 1960) line among other things is reason enough to inspire me =)

Here are just a few pieces from her jewellery line, House of Harlow, in case you haven't seen them before:

I would love to be as confident in my own skin and comfortable with everything I wear as she is. It's admirable when a girl can take dead plain clothing and make them into a completely unique and gorgeous outfit. Here are just a few shots that I love of her (particularly her outifts!)

Anyway, my main point for this post is that I'm excited to hear that Benji and Joel (Nicole's fiance) are soon introducing their own fashion line for women! As a fan of GC for many years and understanding how down to earth and hard working these guys are I'm excited to see what they come up with. I have no doubt that even though Nicole is not part of the designing and production of this line, she will have influence on some part. Even just having Joel around her would have some effect on his perception of womens fashion. I'm hoping that this line will produce some more wallet-friendly pieces that are somewhat similar in style to Winter Kate. Here is what people.com had to say;

Now I haven't seen GC live since '05 but I know that they are amazing live and I would LOVE to go to an intimate acoustic set so I highly recommend heading along for the music alone. They will be premiering some of the new tunes from Cardiology which so far sounds amazing! Check out the 2 previews we've received from the boys so far =)

Freedom Necklace

I've been meaning to show you this piece for like a month now!! I absolutely love this necklace, I've been wearing it alot! The blue really stands out and brings life to this piece. I thought that the leaf and feather were very pretty and natural and created a nice flow within the piece.

This picture was taken awhile back, hence the white background. I will be sticking with the darker background for future photos! Thank you to everyone for your opinions btw! They were very helpful =)

This is one of my fav pieces, it's very me! Made with swarovski crystal bicones, blue glass bead and silver plated charms =) The blue bead is very unique as it has a slight dip in the centre. The top right and bottom left corners rise slightly higher than the rest giving the bead a sort of gentle wave effect shape, it's super pretty! You can make out what I mean in the pic above, there is a dark line in the centre (a reflection of something) which is distorted but it's actually reflecting the edge of a straight picture frame!

I called this piece 'Freedom' because the leaf, feather and ocean blue bead all remind me of nature and nature is always associated with beauty and liberty.

New Light

Hi ♥

I had some free time the other day and I decided to mess around with the camera and taking pics of some of my pieces on different backgrounds etc! I was hoping to find a solution to my current photo setup. As much as I love how the pieces are turning out on the white background it's very tedious to set up all the pages, etc. to reflect light as I don't have a light box and about 95% of the photos I take turn out more grey than white!

I have a really nice dark wooden hall table inside my bedroom door and I love how the pics turned out on this! I think it really shows you what they look like without any extra light being reflected or anything these are 100% natural photos and are taken in one of the slightly darker areas in my room. The only thing I do to my photos is add a watermark. Anyway, enough with the rambling! Here are two pics (the most similar I have) of my Royal Pearl Bracelet showing both the original photo style and the darker background!

You can see that for some reason the white background makes pieces look much more grey in colour than it really is.

My point for this post is to inquire which style of photo you prefer! Personally, I am leaning towards darker as it shows a much more true-to-life colour and there is no set up whatsoever involved for me (laziness~XP). Which do ye prefer? Do you think I should stick with the lighter background or use the dark wooden background?

Herro Hachi

I was so lucky to be 1 of 5 winners of the herrohachi grand opening giveaway! Kym was so sweet to allow me to choose a tee or tank of my choice for free!! Everything is so cute and it was so hard to choose! I spent ages debating whether I should get the Live, Love, Laugh, Eat! tee or the Neeenja Tank top!

After a few hours (took me that long to decide!!) I finally choose the Neeenja Tank! It was just TOO cute to pass up! =) Kym was so sweet and she kept me completely informed on my package and told me the moment she shipped it off and the package arrived shockingly fast! Everything was so perfectly wrapped! (Please excuse the quality of the photos - these were taken with my phone as I was just leaving my house to hop on a train when I got the package!)

She even sent me a super cute button!! =D (once again please excuse the pic quality.. -__- )

New necklace & Guardian Angel

Hey everyone!

I'm just back from my weekend away, stayed up with my boyfriend for the long weekend and we had a great weekend and some much needed catching up time together! We talk every single day and yet sometimes you just need to be together in person which is why long distance can be a lil lonely but it's worth it =) Also over the weekend I finally saw Toy Story 3!

I loved it! It was everything it was hyped up to be =) Although I thought the movie was a bit sad at times, especially for a kids movie, it certainly had that Disney charm. All the new characters - both toys and humans - were perfect additions! I don't want to spoil anything so all I will say is that I believe this is an admirable ending to a beloved childhood movie!

The piece I have to share with you today is a very simple piece but pretty all the same. This piece is simply a pair of angel wings on a chain. I just love the way they hang from it. Very casual yet elegant piece.

Also in this post I just want to share a song with you that has a very important meaning to me and seems fitting to match with the new necklace. Although this song is a few years old now I think it is a very inspiring song and a very beautiful piece. It's unlike the band's other music and they really out did themselves with this one! Hey everyone

My plans for posting more often were disrupted by some unfortunate events recently. I wont say much on the subject but I will ask those who read this simply to cherish those you love while you have the opportunity. Due to the events my blogging may be infrequent for the next while which I am sorry for.

I have to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has followed my blog and commented on all my posts recently! I am so grateful for it all and I'm so happy that so many of you love my pieces! I'm overwhelmed by the amount of people asking and encouraging me to sell some. I really hope to, and slowly I'm making some very small steps towards making this happen but it will be awhile yet.

Hey

I took a lil r&r time for myself the last few days. I always try to remain positive and upbeat, particularly on my blog, but sometimes it can get a lil hard. I seem to be in need of reminding myself lately that it's okay to take a step back and feel a lil blue because it's those moments that show us everything we have to appreciate in life.

As usual, I went to visit my boyfriend last weekend! It was a blast. He'll be coming down this weekend. It will only be short visit but I'm grateful for that at least. It gets lonely and boring during the week when he's not around! =P I did of course pick up some new beads and findings during my visit so I made a few new pieces which I will hopefully get posted up soon! =)

Oh and anyone who follows me on twitter knows I got my exam results lately... and I PASSED!! YAY! =) Happy with my results and going into final year next year! *scary stuff* ha ha =D

Okay so onto what ye are really interested in! I made this bracelet last Tues, got my hands on a camera yesterday so I decided to share this with ye today! I called this piece Harmony just because I felt the pastel colours gave it a very calming ambience.

Surprisingly all the beads in this except the beautiful leaf are pieces I've had for almost or over a year now. It took getting the leaf to inspire this bracelet and I like the outcome. Recently a good few of the pieces I've made have leaves in them. I love the summer/autumn feel of the leaves and the nature motif is definitely in atm with the boho chic trends!

Close up of the Bali leaf. I love adding charms to pieces because it really gives it it's own personality. This is assembled on tiger's tail and contains a mixture of seed beads, metal beads, statement and simple glass beads and swarovski crystals. And lastly two pics of the piece on =)

Bridal Bracelet

Hi ♥

Meant to post this last night but got so tired I couldn't manage to stay awake any longer =P

Recently I've been reading ALOT of people's blogs and going through people's older posts aswell! I was watching some of Jen's (frmheadtotoe) videos and her bridal make-up one inspired me to do bridal piece. If you don't know about Jen's blog then you absolutely must go check it out! To match the theme that Jen was discussing I aimed to make a modern, elegant and simple yet timeless piece!

Everyone knows the typical saying for a wedding attire ~ Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue! I aimed to get as much of this as possible incorporated into the piece but I couldn't do the borrowed so I changed it to old, new, shiny, blue =P

As you might have guessed I've had a recent love for pearls and they go well with anything and are most certainly timeless so I had to include them ~ something old; check. Something shiny was easy as the Swarovski crystals can't be beaten for their sparkling and light reflecting qualities =) (this pic is a lil blurry at the front but you can see how shiny they are in the other pics!)

The ribbon adds a nice touch to this piece as it make it unique and also makes the bracelet more versatile. The piece is quite classy and I think that the blue ribbon makes it slightly more relaxed feeling without taking away from the elegance of the piece. Also, it's our something blue! The bracelet itself counted for the something new on my list so our whole checklist is complete!

The piece is assembled on tiger's tail. The white pearls are accompanied by a lovely mini toggle clasp attached with a small amount of chain. I find that the beauty of the organza ribbon is that it allows you to adjust the bracelet to suit your own style as there are so many ways to tie it or decorate the bracelet with the blue ribbon! Here are just a few of the ways I tested out aside from a simple, delicate knot =)

This is my favourite way I think, I just wrapped the blue ribbon around the pearls.

This idea was done kinda hastily so the picture doesn't do much justice, sorry! What I did here was wrapped the ribbon around the toggle clasp so it was hidden. If I had pulled it tighter it would have looked much nicer as it would be a row of pearls and crystals leading to a slim ribbon twist at the back.

Here's a lil look at the front of the piece on. If you look closely you can see how shiny the Swarovski crystals are here ^.^

I'm back from my weekend away. Had a nice relaxing trip up to see my boyfriend in his new place =) It was a really fun weekend! Went to a craft fair and did a lil shopping and visited his workplace and got to see a lot of the area! Loved it! And for once there was decent weather for most of the weekend ^.^ Oh and I tried some yummy foods for the first time! Macaroons and savoury crepes! Delicious =D

I also picked up a few new findings and bits while I was away so I'm spending today relaxing watching shows and making some new jewellery pieces! I <3 the one I made already so I'll have to show you it soon! =)

I know I said before that I hoped to sell pieces come summertime but it's not looking like that will happen straight away! I do hope to sell a few pieces here and there later in the summer but I don't think it would be a huge amount and not for awhile yet. I'm looking into getting a paypal account atm (ya I don't have one XP I normally use my brother's to buy things) and I've never sold anything online before so I wana get my head around everything before I even consider selling things! Hope this doesn't disappoint anyone! I still aim to do a giveaway around the 100 followers mark though, whenever that may be =D

Right now I'm enjoying blogging and getting to know everyone! I've met some lovely people here and I hope to get to know them even more =D I am going to try blog more regularly though, I know mine are a lil all over the place atm and I thank everyone for sticking by me and reading my blog still. It means a lot to me and I love hearing from you! <3

Not really a point to this blog, just a lil ramble he he! So I suppose I could share a few things about me while I'm at it because I don't want my blog to be impersonal. I really love getting to know people so it's only fair ye know about me too =)

1) I <3 teddies! I have WAY too many though =P

2) I use exclamation marks and smiley's far too much!!!!!!! but they make everything happy so I always use them! =D

3) My name is Maeve Rachel =) I chose to use Rae for my blog just because I felt the name suited my jewellery more. It's kind of a personal thing but I'm indifferent as to which people call me! My friends at home call me Maeve as it is my first name. I will prob stick with using Rachel here just to prevent confusion =P

4) I'm a bit of a nerd. Well..maybe more than a bit. My bf is a comp sci student so he's defo an influence there! I'm one of those rare girl gamers =) I have a PS2, N64 and have been considering getting an xbox for ages (my bf has one and I use his ALL the time) and yesterdays announcement at e3 that a new xbox will be released has got me sold! I'll be getting one as soon as they hit stores here in Ireland =D My fav game atm is COD: Modern Warfare 2 but Left 4 Dead is defo one of my all time favourites!

5) Erm.. I'm not sure what else to say =P If anyone has any q's I'm more than happy to answer them! Royal Pearl

Exams are finally over and that means I had time to make some new pieces! YAY! =)

This piece is a two-layered bracelet made with alternating sized white faux pearls. Composed on tiger's tail and finished off with a simple lobster clasp.

I love the crown charm on this piece, I bought a few of them awhile back but haven't really used them in pieces yet and I think they are really nice =) I think it gives the piece a royal feeling, hence the name. It adds a hime element to it!

Here are some pages from the Japanese magazine Vivi. I will be making this a two part post as there's lots of cute items to share! I hope you enjoy =)

I'm sure that with some of the upcoming Sex and the City 2 movie being set in Abu Dhabi will cause the already present boho chic trend to overload! I think it will create a move towards the bold colours though.These pieces of jewellery look very pretty though, I love all the vibrant colours.

I must say I'm a fan of the boho chic look myself. I always love clothes that are pretty AND comfortable!

I ADORE the dress on the top left here! The nude colour is very nice and the layers and flow of the material is gorgeous!♥

I think the outfit towards the top left here is super cute! <3 the open waistcoat and fedora giving the dress that extra bit of style.♥

New piece

As promised! Here is the new piece. I made this a few weeks back but with the stress of exams and limited time between study, rest and rare moments I get with my bf I just had no time to post it =( Until now! =) I haven't named this piece yet. This one means alot to me personally as the gorgeous star charm was a present from my boyfriend. I love stars =) And I love shiny things, so obviously a shiny star with a super pretty stone in the middle is right up my alley! There's also a Swarovski crystal heart and bicone on a silver chain. Simple but I love it.

There is just a simple lobster clasp at the back. Like I said I haven't named this piece so I'd love to hear your suggestions <3

EDIT: I've decided on a name! It's now called 'First Love'. My boyfriend came up with it and many reasons why it should be called so and well I couldn't argue with him =P

I remembered this after my post last night. This song is so incredibly beautiful! I've been listening to it constantly the past few days. Some of you may also have already heard it in my mixpod here on my blog. Now I'll admitt I'm a lil biased because Chuck is my FAV show and I think Zachary Levi is just a lil..well alot dreamy =P But it is an amazingly peaceful song and Katharine has a very pure voice and she makes it seem effortlessly beautiful. Plus, it's got Zac singing in it, what more do you need?! he he Check it out;

For those who don't know about Chuck, I beg you to watch it! It's cute, funny, the good kind of silly, full of action and has hot guys and girls in it (I'll just be clear that I'm straight, but know when a girl's got it! =P ). I don't wana give away any bit of the plot so I'll leave ye find out for yerselves. To anyone who already watches it or will watch it now your amazingly awesome!! =D

Phew, I've got a few days break until my next and last few exams so I'm gona make a post or two while I can! =) So far they have been going grand, yesterday and today's exams were the most stressful =__= But hopefully the worst is over now! And I'm going to rest and get to see my boyfriend for the weekend *yay*

Well I woke up this morning to check twitter and find Hayley Williams of Paramore linking to this video and I was impressed! Everyone seems to be talking about this kid today and I'm not surprised! He has a great voice and Lady Gaga songs aren't the easiest to cover. Also I know from experience that playing piano and singing at the same time can be quite difficult T.T Check him out for yourself here:

I've been neglecting my blog so much lately!! Feel so bad >.< If it makes it any better it's because I've actually been studying *a bit* XP I can never study for exams, it's so boring and stifling. I always leave it until the last minute! My exams start tomorrow and will be going on right up to the very end of May -__- So the tumbleweeds will be blowing across my blog for awhile longer I'm afraid.

So this is just a sort post to explain my disappearance and let you all know I'm still alive! I meant to post about a new piece I made recently but I ended up going to visit my boyfriend in his new place instead! I'll try and get it up as soon as my exams end. Any free time I've had lately has been spent catching up with shows or sleeping so it just hasn't been possible lately XP Such a boring life! Anywho I hope you all have a more enjoyable May than I will!

Kawaii ♥

I love everything kawaii! From characters of Sanrio and San-X to apparel and accesories of TokiDoki and even fellow blogger's creations like those of Ekilove and Rae630!

I know this happened ages ago but I think it is so KAWAII so I had to do a lil post on it. In honour of Rilakkuma's 5th Anniversary the Royal Park Hotels had Rilakkuma themed rooms! Complete with exclusive souvenirs. Staying true to his name, the Rilakkuma theme was relaxation.

Combining this the hotel focused on having their guests feel like royalty. This was reflected in the special, exclusive Royal Park goodies in the rooms such as Rilakkuma teddies adorned with crowns and sceptres! Every detail was considered and adapted to suit this theme from posters on the wall to bear-themed breakfasts!!

Oh I wish I had been able to go to this. I'm a big teddy lover..and by big I mean VERY much so XP And Rilakkuma of course is no exception! Just too cute. As are Korilakkuma and all the San-X characters too! The prices for a night in these luxury-kawaii rooms were a lil steep though ranging from $275 - $386 (in Nagoya and Tokyo Shiodome respectively). I don't a hotel theme can get cuter than that!! I hope to be able to stay in a place like this sometime =)

A friend of mine went to Japan awhile back and got me these amazing Hello Kitty cookies from Sanrio Puroland!

They were delicious! But of course are all gone now, I was lucky to get a photo of one before devouring them! XP So kawaii and so so yummy! (The shine in the pic is because of a clear wrapping that was on them). I'm getting hungry just thinking about these now XP And of course it came in super cute wrapping but I don't have any pics of that I'm afraid! I'll admit I felt a lil bad eating Hello Kitty's head but it was totally worth it ^.^

TokiDoki are an awesome company! I've spoken with the owner/creator/designer Simone Legno before and he's very nice, seems very down to earth. Obviously he has amazing talent too. Tokidoki do everything from apparel and jewellery to skatedecks and usb sticks! And everything is kawaii!!

They do many collaborations with people and I'm sure many bloggers will be familiar with their most recent one with Sephora. They designed the beautiful packaging and the actual product for some Sephora exclusive make-up. They have tons of cute characters! They have many groups of friends and they are all so cute! Here are but a few;

Jade Love

Hope everyone is doing well! I think it's about time for another jewellery post =) Finally got some pics of another piece I made recently! Sorry that the pics aren't great quality, the key is actually much shiner in real life! This ones called Jade Love. All silver-plated materials with a Swarovski heart and metallic painted circular shell charm. This is a very simple, elegant design.

My favourite thing about this piece is how the crystal heart reflects the colour of the shell. You can see this is the pic above. The shell itself is a coated with a metallic jade/aqua shade (depending on what light you look at it in) and so with movement the colour always changes slightly, by itself and through the Swarovski crystal. Lots of shiny parts in this one! ^.^

I used a simple lobster clasp with an extension chain at the back of this making it easier to put on. I forgot to take a picture of the full length but this is the longest one I've made yet at 18". I felt the length suited this style better and love the turnout =)

Lush Reviews ♥

Hi hi ♥

So sorry for neglecting my blog lately! Finally got over my long month of hard work and having multiple things due every week in college and then went straight into helping my bf prep for moving away. Been going non-stop til now! He moved like 4 hrs away last Monday to do an amazing internship for a year. I'm going to see him most weekends so it's not a huge issue, it has just been a bit of a shock going from seeing him every single day to not really knowing when we're going to see each other again. Feeling kinda lost about it all to be honest.

To add to my 'lost state' I feel like I'm kind of kidding myself about selling jewellery. Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love to!! But it just seems so impossible and slightly ridiculous when I think about it =P But I'm going to keep dreaming and hoping I might be able to ^.^ Everyone needs to dream a lil right?

I've been a silent blogger for too long now. I have kept up to date for the most part reading many people's blogs but haven't been posting or commenting lately unfortunately so I will try work on that. Apologies for the slightly sad rant =P I'll be HAPPY now though! he he =) I attempted a lil revamp of my blog the other day and totally changed the design, it's not perfect yet. Some features aren't exactly how I wanted but I'm not great at coding and have forgotten most of it as I learnt it a few years ago but I'll keep working on it slowly until I get it right ♥

Anyways, I've decided to tell you about some of my favourite Lush products that I can never get enough of!! I haven't done a review before so I'd be very grateful to hear from you if you've any comment/recommendations/questions!

Firstly;

Mmm Marshmallow Melting Moment

This lil piece of delight smells amazing! It's very sweet and definitely one to keep stocked up on! I don't take baths very often but sometimes I do like a lil relaxing soak and this bath bomb is absolutely my no.1 fav!

Lush's description: Slow melting musky marshmallow marvel. MMM melts into a pink, fluffy waterbed of marshmallow and moisturizing cocoa butter. Each Melting Marshmallow Moment is made with marshmallow herb, which produces a sweet, skin-soothing mucilage that was used to make sugar candies for hundreds of years, and marigold, which is equally calming for your skin. Take your time, savour each moment and have as many marshmallows as you like.

Pros:

It smells sooo good, very sweet, relaxing smell. I find the smell very calming and enjoyable. Smells just like real marshmallows.
Makes your skin so incredibly soft! I love this factor.It contains cocoa butter so it's a really good moisturiser. My skin feels great and smooth and there's a nice slight glow from my skin afterwards aswell.
At approx 4e per 100g (that's a lil over 5 American dollars if I'm correct ~ apologies if i'm slightly off) it's a steal! I can get a good 2 or 3 baths out of one bath melts so it's definitely worth it!

Cons:

If you break too much off into the bath the smell can be a lil overpowering at times. It's grand if you want a nice strong scented soak but now and then it's a lil much!
It can go a bit mushy in the packet if it gets in contact with water at all. Doesn't make any difference for using it after as it still works perfectly, however it can make storing it just that small bit more difficult.

For me, it's a sure buy whenever I'm in Lush! It's a nice lil treat to relax with and it really softens my skin. Love it! ♥ I'd give it 9/10 just cuz it's hard to stop it going mushy sometimes, especially if you keep it in a steamy bathroom.

Next Lush product is Seanik.

This was the first ever shampoo bar I used and I was skeptical at the start I'll admit. I was convinced it couldn't be as good as normal shampoo and doubted it's ability to lather very well. I was quite wrong though! =P This bar is very easy to use, lathers very fast and you need barely any to do your whole head!

Lush's description: Softening sea salt shampoo with jasmine, mimosa and orange blossom. Many of our planet's most potent nutrients come from the deep blue sea. Lush has them brought ashore to create an ocean blue Shampoo Bar with protein-rich, softening Irish moss seaweed, Japanese nori seaweed and sea salt to leave your hair soft, nourished and full of body. We could have left it at that, but that's just not our way. We added lemon oil for extra shine, and the exotic far eastern fragrance of mimosa and jasmine to bathe you in the heady scent of tropical flora.

Pros

As I mentioned it lathers very well and very quickly.
A small bit will go a long way! I just rub it all over my head and rub it in then and it lathers very easily, great coverage!
I sometimes get slightly greasy hair if I style it a lot and I find this shampoo bar is fantastic for stripping my hair clean again.
Leave a beautiful, healthy looking shine in my hair and gives it a nice natural bounce (which can be annoying for me sometimes as I have very fine hair so it looks too big but I know others with thick hair and they love it!)

Cons

I wouldn't consider it an everyday shampoo. Personally, I use it once or twice a week as it strips many of the natural oils from your hair.
At a lil over 5e (approx 7 American dollars) for only 55g it's a lil steep for this shampoo bar, although it does last ageeees so it is worth the investment if you get the same results I do!
The smell is quite strong. It smells salty and seaweed-like, very seaside smell. It's okay but it's a lil strong for my liking. If your a surfer girl I'm sure you'd be well used to the smell and may love it! However I'm not but I can't deny the results so I use it.

Lastly;

Lemony Flutter

Anyone that knows me knows that I despise lemons >.< Especially the taste and consequently the smell by association. The smell from this product is VERY strong and really turned me off it at first. I heard great things about this product though and so had to test it out. I've become more adjusted to the smell by now as I've been using the product for a good while. The results are well worth it! It can be used to soften any area of the body; cuticles, heels, elbows, toes. I even heard of some people using it as a lip balm during the winter months to get rid of cracked lips (though I've never tried this so can't say how successful it was). I find it leaves my skin so soft tho! I especially use it on my heels. Normally I apply it before I go to bed, smother it on, and leave it overnight. In the morning they are noticeably softer and smoother and I love it!

Lush's description: Softens hard skin all over the body, especially the cuticles. We made Lemony Flutter to soften your cuticles; it's our thickest cream out there. It's so good at softening your cuticles and nourishing your nails that Lush customers have been using it to soften and nourish lots of other body parts like their feet, elbows and knees. Fortunately, it's a very reasonably priced cream, so you can afford to use it as widely as you wish. Take more care of your extremities and invest a small sum in a Lemony pot.

Pros

Leaves your skin noticeably soft and smooth.
Easy to apply, no mess. It's like a thick cream so you wont get it everywhere.
Absorbs moderately fast. (Unless you smother it on it can be slightly slippy for awhile. Otherwise it absorbs nicely).
People have said it has a nice sweet smell ~ though my personal experience was less enjoyable my view is quite biased.
As it's a thick cream you don't have to use too much as it spreads easily. Therefore the lil tub will last you a good while!
At just over 6e (approx 8 American dollars) it is worth it. The results are evident and the lil tub lasts.

Cons

Be the smell nice or not in your opinion it is strong. It's very overpowering and it stays on your hands/feet wherever you apply for hours after unless you give it a good thorough soapy washing.
To get the best results you really have to use the product continuously. For example if you put it on your heels one night they'll be nice and soft for a day or two but then your back to square one almost. I find applying a bit every 2-3 nights to be the best way to get your moneys worth and get the best results from this product.

Lush are a very environmentally friendly company which I love! (I'm vegetarian). They insist upon using recycled materials and are adamantly against animal testing. A nice feature to these products also is that the Marshmallow Bath Melt and The Seanik shampoo bar are vegan! With the Lemony Flutter tub (and other products) they offer if you bring back 5 black pots to the shop for reuse they will give you a Fresh Face Mask free!

A lil bit about me..

Hey everyone!

Sorry I've been gone so long, I have been up the walls with assignments >.< And they haven't stopped yet! The next month will be very hectic so I'm afraid I may not get much blogging done during this time =(

I decided to write a lil bit about me this time as I feel my blog might be slightly impersonal at the moment and I'd like to get to know people and visa versa! So I'll start off with just a few simple lil facts bout me ^.^

I'm in college studying English and Irish. Majoring in English which I love love LOVE <3 The course is so fun! Irish depends on the day =P It's pretty much a dead language to be honest and people only use it here if you live in a Gaeltacht area.

As you already know I have a boyfriend who means so much to me <3 We've been together for a lil over 2.5 yrs now, although we've known each other for about 4 yrs!! Couldn't be happier! <3 He recently got a huge internship as part of his course ~so proud~ but it means he'll be living about 4 hours away for a WHOLE YEAR!! I know it doesn't sound like much of a big deal but I've had problems travelling for the last two yrs ~long story-I won't bore ye with that! =P ~ so it will be tough but I'm going to suck it up so I can visit him <3

My friends don't actually know about this blog aside from my boyfriend as I'm very shy about the things I make so hearing all of your opinions about my pieces really means ALOT to me =) You have all been so sweet and welcoming and your compliments make me feel like I'm doing something right! ^.^

Okay well that's enough about me!

Unfortunately, as I said before, my camera isn't working so I can't get photos up too easily atm therefore I don't have a new piece to show you today =( Instead I've decided to say a lil something small about 6 bloggers that inspire me! Angelique Bracelet

I got all my goodies in the post over the last two weeks and I just had to make something on Friday! My camera died recently so it's been difficult to take photos when I want >.< but this is what I came up with;

It's a two layer bracelet with off-white faux pearls, swarovski crystal bicones and rondelles. Made on tiger's tail and chain and ties with a cute lil toggle clasp. The wing is one of the (many) main new things I bought, I just thought it worked perfectly on this bracelet!

I realised I have only called my jewellery pieces by pretty much their literal description so I decided to name this one the Angelique Bracelet ~ cliched much? XP I like this bracelet and I'd even be tempted to create it or a similar design for a giveaway at some point if ye like it.

Just a lil pick of what it looks like on. I don't really model my pieces, I know some people can do a really good job of it but I'm the behind-the-camera kinda person =P I was kinda inspired to do this piece by my Vday present (as you may know my bf and I agreed on no pressies) but he surprised me with a beautiful white rose anyway! <3 It's just a lil piece of casual elegance.

New Year's LOVE Day

Just a quick message to wish you all a happy Valentines Day and a Happy New Year! (It's the Chinese New Year for those who didn't know)

My boyfriend and I have decided to have a low key Vday this year, avoid the over-hyped commercial factors of it all. We'll be spending tomorrow just watching movies with ice-cream sundaes =) And our presents will be each other's company. Isn't that what it's all about anyway? Though gifts are nice the day is about LOVE and having the time to be with that special someone.

And for all those single ladies I hope you enjoy your Happy S.A.D. (Single Appreciation/Awareness Day)! Be confident and show em you can love life just as much being single =) For S.A.D. women are recommended to wear green as it's the opposite of red, the hallmark colour of Vday.

Either way I hope you all have an extremely happy LOVE weekend ♥

And just a lil extra *love* for my bf if he reads this ^.^

Blue Phone Charm

I've made a few phone charms before but it's rare that I do. I like making them though and of course they aren't limited to use on phones! With the lariat strap they can be attached to bags, purses, ipods, used as bookmarks..the list goes on!! It's just something nice and shiny to make a plain thing pretty =)

This phone charm was made just a few nights ago. I picked up the blue disco ball, which is the bottom bead and main focus of this piece, and just felt I had to use it in something! I've had it for ages from an old necklace I took apart (I do this alot! =P ). Most of the beads in this piece are from old jewellery I've taken apart actually. There are glass, acrylic and seed beads in this piece, even faux pearls. The charm is structured by a line of jump rings as phone charms need to be sturdy and durable. (Or at least mine do the amount of times I harshly rip it out of my pocket!)

I wanted to create a slight clustered feeling within the top of this piece to keep the focus on the blue disco ball.

The simple variant shades of blue are reflected within one another and nicely tie the piece together I think. Simple yet playful.

I can't wait for my haul of findings and beads, etc. to come in the post! I've spent the day resting in bed as I'm just after recovering from a lil dose of exhaustion and dehydration and now have caught a cold on top of it and I've been non- stop doodling all day! I have SO many ideas and I think that even with the crazy amount of stuff I bought I wont be able to make them all. I really hope to start designing/making stuff that I might one day share with you guys. I'm also really keen on doing a giveaway as I said in my last post so I'm defo thinking of stuff for that too =)

Pink Indian Bracelet

Hey!

Been awhile since my last post as I currently have alot of assignments due for college in the next few weeks but I'm slowly getting them done =)

Since my last post I've ordered some new beads, charms and findings and should have tons coming in the post soon! Very excited! =) Hopefully I can start making some more of my designs then. I'm a doodler and have lots of drawings of pieces I'd like to make someday but rarely have all the bits to make them with. I'd love to do a giveaway at some point also! I haven't decided at what follower mark I will do it but I'll be sure to let ye guys know when I decide!

Today I'm going to show you a piece that some of ye may have already seen but I have a few different pictures of it here. It's the Pink Indian Bracelet. This bracelet is very simple in it's design but the detail in the beads and the daisy dividers (same ones used in the Blue Memory Bracelet) give it it's exotic appeal.

Made using glass, metal and miracle beads on tigers tail with a simple spring clasp. I love miracle beads! They are called so because in certain lights/angles it looks like there is another bead within the bead! I took a pic with strong lighting and flash to show you all this;

You can also see the great amount of detail in the engravings on these beads. Some of the beads are Bali and others Indian, I was told that it looks more Indian-inspired though. I'd love to know what ye all think! Don't be shy =)

Floating Butterfly Necklace

As I've received numerous flattering compliments about this particular necklace I'm going to say a little bit on it! This piece has a very delicate appearance. Wooden, stardust and Indian/Bali beads on tiger's tail compose the majority of the necklace.

The butterfly sits on an extension of tiger's tail hanging from the upper row of beads.

This necklace also has a matching bracelet (though either go well on their own). The bracelet uses the same beads, just many more! ^.^ This unique elegant design is great for wearing formally or casually.

Simple but fun!

Eki Love <3

Hey, I haven't posted in a few days because I've been swamped with assignments but I'm taking a moment to tell you about someone who's blog I've only discovered within the last few months but I think deserves alot of credit and praise for her hard work and dedication! It's Eki of course ^.^

Her posts are so fascinating and she always has such cute and useful items to talk about! She even makes her own kawaii items which are amazing and so adorable! I'm so eager to get my hands on some of her creations! They can be bought through her online store. Everything is handmade and designed by Eki with love.

I really admire her for both her originality and beauty. I think she is an exceptional person and works very hard to put all her best efforts into her creations, and the final products show it! She is very talented. I was super disappointed to have missed out on getting the Rilakkuma pencilcase! I loved it!! So kawaii! When I get some of her goodies (hopefully soon!) I will definitely write up a review on them =) I believe that people who put themselves out there and share happiness with others deserve alot of admiration and respect. Hence why I recommend Eki. Her blogs are always beautiful, colourful and happy!

Obviously I love handmade items and I really recommend checking out Eki's creations!! (click the pic!)

Ribbon Necklace

I never worked with ribbon before but I can promise that it wont be my last time! Thought it might be a lil harder to make, the outcome is worth it. Unlike the tiger's tail or the memory wire, the ribbon is very free and has a much more fluid movement to it which can look really nice!

Even when weighed down by heavy beads the ribbon still retains many of its natural curves which is super appealing. For this piece I used organza ribbon which I believe is the easiest form of ribbon to use. Honestly, I'm very tempted to try a ribbon bracelet to see how it would turn out! It was alot of fun to work with!

Charm Bracelet

This is the second charm bracelet I've ever made. The first was more spread out, the charms hung individually at regular intervals and were mostly blue, so this charm bracelet was quite an adventure for me!

There really is a bit of everything in this. Everything from glass-metal-shell beads and also an imitation of an ancient Roman coin, a button and more!! I really liked working with so many colours in one piece which is a rare thing for me as I usually keep to 2-3 colours per piece.

The s-hook clasp is a nice lil detail to this piece also. It makes the bracelet that little bit easier to get on and adds a bit more character to the piece than an ordinary lobster clasp would.

Blue Memory Bracelet

This bracelet is one of my personal favourites! Made using memory wire and tiger's tail, including turquoise metallic cubes, jade porcelian beads and clear seed beads. Also two swarovski crystals feature as the main focus of the bracelet.

Eight daisy dividers give this bracelet strength and flexibility while keeping it in position. A nice magnetic clasp makes it easy to get on and off! Not to be biased but I love this bracelet! XD Because it's made with memory wire it never loses it's shape and the clasp makes it so easy to get on, I often find that lobster clasps and spring rings can be awkward to tie one-handed!
